CARING FOR SCOTLAND'S SICK, INJURED AND ORPHANED WILDLIFE

5th December 2015

We have 80 hedgehogs in care at Hessilhead. Most of them are underweight autumn juvenile hedgehogs, but a few are a good weight now and could be released if we find the right sites. These hedgehogs must go into Hedgehog houses filled with dry bedding, as it would be impossible for hedgehogs that were released without shelter to find a suitable nest site and enough dry grass and leaves to build a nest. If you have an empty hedgehog house in a suitable garden, and would like to help, please contact us on 01505 5o2415, or info@hessilhead.org.uk

The weather this week is delaying several releases. We have 3 barn owls ready to go, waiting for calm, dry nights.
