CARING FOR SCOTLAND'S SICK, INJURED AND ORPHANED WILDLIFE

November 28th 2013

Yesterday morning we had a call from Northumberland, asking if we could take another seal pup. Buttercup was a white coat pup, less than two weeks old, found a mile along a beach, with nasty bite wounds on body and flippers. It was late at night when the pup arrived at Hessilhead, but the pen was ready with a heat lamp on, and we gave the pup fluids before bedtime. Buttercup, as you see, has been sprayed with yellow paint. This was during the count of seal pups on the Farne islands. More fluids have given throughout today. Buttercup is fiesty, and should be ready for fish tomorrow.P1020266 - Copy
